"This is an update to a previous testimony That I had given on the EASE cushion when I had only been using the cushion for 7 months. I now have 8 years of usage and I'm still very pleased with the results. The cushion has performed flawlessly and I've not had one sign of a pressure sore. I am a T-6 para complete, 3 years post injury. I was using a high profile (air) cushion when I became aware of the EASE "Active Massage" cushion, however, since I've been using the EASE cushion, there has been no sign of any skin breakdown. The EASE cushion has some special features that I particularly like. The microprocessor that controls the dynamic air inflation also contains circuits that can sense if anything goes amiss with the unit; i.e. low battery, air leaks, or anything else that might be malfunctioning. The unit has an internal speaker that beeps out codes representing the above symptoms. This feature lends an air of confidence to its use...So far the only alarm I have heard is the low battery alarm when I forgot to charge it as recommended. I'm currently sitting on the cushion a full 10 to 14 hours or more every day. I'd also like to mention the stability and smooth surface makes my transfers easier. One other offering that the developers of the EASE cushion have come up with is a cushion only 1" thick, which is great to place on a car or van seat. This cushion provides the same benefits as the original 3 inch cushion without raising you up too high in your seat. I'm personally very grateful to the developers for developing such a great product. All "Para's" and "Quad's" will benefit greatly from this cushion, and I for one highly recommend it."
