Roy has the worst of quadriplegia; polio paralyzed most of his body but he still can feel pain, especially in his buttocks. Sitting always caused pain in that area and limited him to only two hours upright before he had to recline in his chair. He tried to invent his own Alternating Pressure cushion using old technology. His own cushion helped but only ran three hours on a charge. In 2002, Roy was delighted to get an EASE cushion that runs all week.

In fact, Roy says,
"I now can sit for 12 hours without feeling any buttocks pain whatsoever. This has enabled me to operate my businesses with no problem."
